I love learning history through fiction! I love that some of the characters are based on real historical figures. The two storylines helped develop the characters. At times the book had too much detail and perhaps could have been a bit shorter. Great strong female characters!

The Couple Next Door

I enjoyed this book because it kept me guessing all the way to the end. The Couple Next Door is the perfect title because there are 2 couples “next door” and at first I thought it was referring to only one but by the end it made me realize it was about both. Anne and Marco are new parents and Cynthia and Graham have no children. While Anne and Marco seem somewhat reserved the other a bit more edgy, turns out they both have very big secrets which lead to infidelity, kidnapping, blackmail, and murder. I recommend this book because each character is faced with an obstacle they must face if Anne and Marco ever want to see their baby again.

Spin

While I have enjoyed Cornwell's books very much in the past, this one is WAY too sci-fi for me. It also has a lot of technical detail about tools and equipment, but not a lot of explanation for the activity that is taking place. Very disappointed and I would not read another one from this series.
